Maybe Love: Heron Cove Sweet Contemporary Romance Novella (Falling in Love in Heron Cove Book 3) by Shae Lynn Whitney

513Ly4KUH1L._SY346_I received the book Maybe Love: Heron Cove Sweet Contemporary Romance Novella (Falling in Love in Heron Cove Book 3) by Shae Lynn Whitney as a review copy from StoryOrigin and I am thankful to them for the same.

The blurb:

Welcome to Heron Cove, where dreams really do come true… eventually.

An isolated beach cottage should be just the place to launch a career as a professional artist, but all of Emily’s canvases are empty. Meeting charming tech mogul James Chen seems just the inspiration she needs for the paint to flow again, letting her get back to her passion—painting.

James already has the love of his life—his company, Mebook.com and his hundreds of employees. He’s much too busy to focus on romance, even with a quirky artist that he can’t quite get out of his head.

They’ve both got passion already, what more could they want?

Maybe… Love.

The story:

Twenty nine year old Emily grew up in Denver, got a financial degree and works at Wimberly Financial in New York as a financial analyst , and paints in her free time and even sells them. She has a secret dream of becoming a full-time painter and wants to quit her job, but her mother advices her to ask for leave. So, here she is, on an eight week leave to the little town of Heron’s Cove, California, living in her best friend, Suze’s beach house.

Now, two weeks of leave are already over. She has everything she needs, her dog, Charlie; painting supplies; a beautiful beach house; serene beaches; and no one to disturb her, but inspiration. And while walking on the beach, she finds an expensive ring and decides to reunite the ring with its owner. In the process, she posts a lost and found message on Craigslist and receives eight email responses, some genuine and some fake. There is one message on behalf of James Chen, and he seems genuine. She knows that James was just 19 when he created mebook.com and that he is a favourite in the tabloids, but she knows nothing else about him.

As she is working on getting a happy ending for the ring, she is also in frequent touch with James’ assistants and later James, she starts getting inspired to paint.

So, was the ring lucky for her after all? What will happen to her paintings when she returns it to the owner?

 My take:

This is the third book of the Heron Cove Series and the first one that I have read, both from the series and by the author. The story has been written in first person from the point of view of Emily.

The characters are realistic. I could easily relate to Emily looking to make her hobby her full time profession. I loved the emails between them. The story is written beautifully with detailed, easy to picturize descriptions. It is fast paced and can be finished in one sitting.

I loved the story and plan to read the other books in the series.
