I received the book His Christmas Delight by Summerita Rhayne from the author as a review copy and I would like to thank her for the same. It is story of Myra and Jay set in Goa.
Caught by Santa!
For Myra, Christmas means supporting her friends. They rallied round getting her back on her feet after she lost Pete, her husband, so she’s always ready to help any of them. No matter to what lengths the challenge makes her go. Only she didn’t expect to find Santa almost catching her in her wrongdoings. Then she finds that the handsome Santa is Jay, her old high school friend. Now he’s changed from a gangly geek to an attractive stranger. After missing out on the dating scene for a long time after losing Pete, she feels the first stirring of desire. But Jay is playing hot and cold, refusing to admit the attraction sizzling between them.
He’s back in Goa just for Christmas
Jay knew Myra as his best friend’s girl. Now Pete is gone, but Jay is finding difficult to let go of the scars he picked up in Coast Guard service. He’s home only to help revive his brother’s toy shop. When he finds himself making excuses to stay, he knows he’s crossing the limits he’d set himself. What’s the purpose in taking this further when he knows he cannot be the one to give her the happiness she deserves? But no matter how hard he tries, the scorching flames of wanting only seem to get stronger. How can he keep on denying the attraction between them when she insists on coming close?
Myra is out to help her friend Tonya in getting a gift for her son Toby from Tollinger Toys Santa’s goodies bag in exchange of two recipes. Tonya is sure she can do it. Myra is also sure that she can pull it off. But then things don’t work out as we want them to, do they?
So here is what happens. Myra meets Santa, is trying to impress him when Santa, in an effort to conceal his identity, blurts out his name for her, Princess. And the cat is out of the bag. Now Myra does not know how to steal the gift and feels guilty about letting Toby down.
And, Jay comes to her rescue.
Things are not as simple as they seem because Jay, though attracted to her, wants to stay away from her as he feels guilty and she wants more.
Where will the attraction take them?
The cover of the book is beautiful and the blurb is inviting. I was immediately hooked to the book on reading the blurb. The language is simple and the flow is good. I loved the characters; they were well developed as is with all her books. The scenes were well written and were easy to visualize.
A nice short read, takes only an hour or two.
