Sunshine Girl by Jazz Singh (Twice Upon a Time: Two Novellas)

51nxKlm-22L._UY250_ (1)I received the book Twice Upon a Time: Two Novellas by Jazz Singh and Zeenat Mahal from Jazz Singh as a review copy. The book has two novellas, Sunshine Girl by Jazz Singh and Yours Truly by Zeenat Mahal. I immensely enjoyed reading the books and shall review the novellas one by one.

The Blurb:

Two novellas in one. Sunshine Girl by Jazz Singh is about a young orphan girl Aanya, and Gaurav, the hardened businessman. It’s a story of idealism and materialism locking horns. Guess who wins?

Yours Truly by Zeenat Mahal is a story of two people growing up together. Zoya and Sheru, have loved each other all their lives, but now their love is tested in new ways and they must choose their paths.

The story (Sunshine Girl):

Wearing a faded, red T-shirt, a basic blue jeans, and scruffy sneakers, oblivious to the world, Aanya is playing marbles with the street children when she feels a gaze upon her. When asked, the out-of-place stranger tells her that he is looking for her. He tells her that he is from Lucky Developers. She thinks that the company has sent someone ‘suited booted’ to woo her to sell the piece of land to them. Gaurav, the owner of Lucky Developers, finds her different and they become friends. Until………….

My take:

A beautifully written story that made me smile, made me laugh and made me cry. I loved the language, the way the characters have been developed and the dialogues between the characters.

A must read.

Perfect for the month of love.
